Tibetan Spaniel

My early relatives worked as ‘Prayer Dogs’ in Tibetan monasteries, turning the prayer wheel for intercessing monks. For years they lived only in the monasteries with the monks, since the Tibetan people didn’t care to have them for pets.

Things finally changed for us, thank goodness, and now we are very popular in Britain, as well as other countries. I am just a tad shy with strangers, but I really enjoy my people family.

My double coat is silky and needs regular brushing to keep it from matting.

My size makes me a convenient apartment pet while my temperament makes me a pleasant companion.

When fully grown, I am about 10 inches tall (25.4 centimeters) and I weigh between 9 and 15 pounds (4 to 6.8 kilograms).
