Standard Schnauzer
Records show that my ancestors have been in Germany since the 15th century, so I guess that the Schnauzer is as ancient as any ‘modern’ breed can be. Originally classified as a terrier, I am now grouped with the working dogs.
I am alert, active and reliable, in addition to be adaptable to life in the city.
My coat will require hand stripping if you want me to win ribbons in shows, but if I am to be only a member of the family, you can use the scissors to keep me neat.
When fully grown, I am between 18 and 20 inches tall (45.7 to 50.8 centimeters) and I weigh about 33 pounds (14.9 kilograms).
