Skye Terrier
My breed has been recognized for more than 400 years, but at first we didn’t really have much association with the common folk and their common dogs. Our people friends and masters were usually members of the aristocracy.
Don’t worry about that now, though. You don’t have to live in a fancy house for me to be your friend. My lifestyle is not all that has changed.
I look quite different from my early ancestors who were smaller, with less feathering. I haven’t changed my fearless determination, though. I make a most pleasant canine companion, even though I am a bit stand-offish with people that I don’t know.
My elegant coat is envied by a lot of other dogs, I have heard, but I’ve tried not to let that go to my head.
When fully grown, I am about 10 inches tall (25.4 centimeters) and I weigh about 25 pounds (11.3 kilograms).
