Scottish Deerhound
I look very much like a Greyhound with a rough coat, but I am larger and bigger boned than a Greyhound. My breed was developed to hunt deer in Scotland, so we needed more size and strength.
My relatives were owned mostly by the Scottish nobility for many years, and even today, there aren’t many of us around. I am gentle, calm and polite, by nature, even though my size and job description may make that hard to believe.
My size is a limiting factor for where I can live, because I need lots of roaming room in order to stay healthy, happy and fit.
When fully grown, I am between 28 and 32 inches tall (71.1 to 81.3 centimeters) and I weigh between 75 and 110 pounds (33.8 to 49.5 kilograms).
