The Greek Sheepdog and the Akbash Dog are said to have played an important part in my heritage.
I am a hard-working, capable flock guard and have begun to gain a good reputation for that type of work in both the U.S.A. and Canada.
My instinctive suspicion of strangers or anything unfamiliar contributes to my guard dog sense, but it sometimes interferes with my being able to make friends easily. I tend to follow my ‘gut’ reaction before I’ll listen to a verbal command from anyone other than my owner, because my first loyalty is to him or her.
My coat doesn’t require much more than brushing and an occasional bath to keep it looking nice, but I do need lots of outdoor exercise.
When fully grown, I am between 22 and 26 inches tall (55.9 to 66 centimeters) and I weigh between 55 and 80 pounds (24.8 to 36 kilograms).
