 Papillon
My French name means ‘butterfly’. Needless to say, I got the name because of my interesting, beautiful butterfly-like ears which stand straight up like the widespread wings of a butterfly.
My early ancestors were owned by famous people like Marie Antoinette and Madame de Pompadour. I am told that some of my relatives were very good ratters, but I prefer to be a house pet and a lap dog.
My fine, silky coat comes in white with various colored markings and it is very easy to maintain.
I am an ideal pet for those who do not have the time or energy to walk or jog with their dog. I can get plenty of exercise indoors.
When fully grown, I am between 8 and 11 inches tall (20.3 to 27.9 centimeters).
