Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever
My breed was developed for the purpose of luring (tolling) and distracting ducks so that hunters could shoot them.
Then it was the toller’s job to retrieve the ducks and deliver them to the hunter. It might not sound like much to you, but it requires a lot of talent and energy.
I will have to admit, though, that it is one of the most interesting types of hunting jobs available to dogs in this line of work.
I am charming, happy, and friendly, but some people think that I have a rather soulful expression.
My water-repellent double coat comes in varied shades of red and orange, with white feathering.
When fully grown, I am between 17 and 21 inches tall (43.2 to 53.3 centimeters) and I weigh between 35 and 51 pounds (15.8 to 23 kilograms).
