Lhasa Apso
My ancestors were bred for the purpose of guarding the interiors of temples in Tibet and were sometimes called ‘Tibetan Lion Dogs’.
I still have that natural instinct to guard my people’s home and belongings and I am suspicious of strangers at first, until they prove themselves to be friends.
I am very energetic, but because of my small size, I can usually get plenty of exercise running around the inside of a house. Nice brisk walks outside are nice, too, of course.
My long, dense coat requires daily brushing to keep it from matting.
When fully grown, I am between 10 and 11 inches tall (25.4 to 27.9 centimeters).
