Jack Russell Terrier
My breed was developed by the Reverend Jack Russell, and even though exact records aren’t available to me, I am told that the Bull Terrier and the Pocket Beagle played a part in my heritage, along with various other terrier types.
I am also called a Parson Russell Terrier. I am much thinner and have more refined features than my early ancestors.
I am a very active sort, so I require lots of exercise to stay healthy, happy and fit.
I am people-oriented and have always been a popular small farm dog, but I can be quite content to live in a smaller space in the city as long as my exercise requirements are met.
When fully grown, I am between 9 and 12 inches tall (22.9 to 30.5 centimeters) and I weigh between 12 and 18 pounds (5.4 to 8.1 kilograms).
